Original Form
Role: Internship converted to Digital Designer
Timeline: October 2024 - Present
The Story
A boutique design agency based in San Diego, CA that opened doors to my new chapter as Product Designer. After completing my UX Design certification, I faced months of job search challenges and rejections that tested my confidence. A cold message on LinkedIn to the Director of Operations at Original Form changed everything—it led to an interview, an internship, and later a freelance role.

Although I started with a focus on UX and Product Design, being in a design agency, I used this opportunity to strengthen my UI and Visual Design skills. Working alongside a small, experienced team allowed me to gain practical experience in designing within established brand systems, as well as contributing to the development of new brand identities. At Original Form, I explored multiple aspects of digital design—perfect for someone like me who thrives on curiosity and versatility. I contributed to two key projects:
Socialfair – Visual and interaction design aligned with brand and UX goals.
Original Form Website Redesign – Revamped layout, structure, and visuals for a stronger digital presence.
This experience became the foundation of my design career—and a reminder that persistence and initiative can open unexpected doors.
The Learning Curve
Socialfair was the first project I worked on after joining Original Form as an intern. Expecting to start with user research or wireframing, I was instead tasked with designing social media assets for a brand still in its ideation phase.
Coming from an interior design background, this was a new and initially intimidating challenge. However, I embraced the opportunity—researching inspiration, learning After Effects, and iterating based on team feedback.
The final deliverables were well-received and are now featured on Socialfair’s social media page. This experience strengthened my visual design skills and taught me the value of adaptability early in my product design journey.
After completing the initial social media assets, I began translating desktop designs into mobile layouts, which helped me strengthen my Figma skills and deepen my understanding of design systems, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency.
Recognizing my attention to detail and eagerness to learn, the team entrusted me with designing the desktop and mobile interfaces for the remaining website pages. I began by researching each page’s goals and requirements, identifying the core components, and iterating on the existing structure to improve clarity and efficiency.
The design process was followed by multiple rounds of quality assurance to ensure visual fidelity, cross-device consistency, and optimal performance
Socialfair
Socialfair is a platform designed to connect brands and influencers, enabling seamless collaborations while enhancing the shopping experience. In an era where social media plays a pivotal role in driving brand visibility and consumer engagement, Socialfair aimed to be the bridge between influencers and brands—facilitating transparent, efficient, and impactful partnerships.

Original Form Website Redesign
To support a company-wide rebrand, Original Form set out to redesign their website with the goal of showcasing high-quality creative and marketing work, increasing visibility, and expanding business opportunities. We began by organizing brand assets and curating a portfolio of key projects to feature.
Throughout the redesign process, I collaborated closely with the design team—contributing to responsive desktop and mobile UI design, brand mockups in Photoshop, and motion design using After Effects. Working alongside senior designers, I observed how key animations effectively communicated design intent and brought interactions to life. Inspired, I took the initiative to upskill in motion design by studying After Effects tutorials and creating several animations, some of which were selected for the final website.
My Experience in Original Form
I joined Original Form as the first intern on the creative team—excited to dive into real-world projects and eager to grow as a product designer. Throughout my time there, I had the opportunity to work across the entire design process, from ideation and user flows to UI design, prototyping, and developer handoff.
With the team's support, I explored different areas of digital design, including responsive web design, design systems, motion design, and brand mockups. I collaborated closely with freelancers and developers, adapting quickly to shifting project needs, tools, and timelines.
This hands-on experience helped me sharpen my skills in tools like Figma, After Effects, and Photoshop, while reinforcing essential design principles such as visual hierarchy, consistency, accessibility, and user-centered thinking.
More importantly, it taught me to take ownership—approaching each project with a sense of responsibility, curiosity, and commitment to quality.
